Recipe type: Appetizers

Here’s one of my favorite Hawaiian dish I love to eat when I go back to Hawaii. Lomi lomi salmon is really great when you use fresh salmon instead of frozen, just a tip there when making this dish. Lomi lomi means massage with your hands, so when mix this use your hands and get in there and mix.
Ingredients
  • 3 or 4 big pieces of Fresh Salmon (Note: the photo of the salmon)
  • 4 Tomatoes diced
  • 6 Green Onions Chopped
  • 1 Medium Onion
  • ½ cup of Crushed Ice
  • 3 Pinches of Hawaiian Salt if you can get some, if not regular salt is fine

Instructions
  1. Now we are ready to start making Lomi Salmon. Soak the salmon in cold water for 3 hours. (note: If you are using frozen or canned salmon, you don’t need to.)
  2. Next after you are done soaking, remove the skin and the bones from the salmon.
  3. Now cut the salmon into fine pieces. Now get a large bowl to fit everything in. Add all the ingredients into the bowl, mix with your hands and chill in the refrigerator. (note: do not add the crushed ice yet.)
  4. Before serving add the crushed ice and serve them into small bowls.
  5. There you have it Lomi Salmon. This goes very well with rice and any meat main dishes or as an appertizer.
