Chicken balls Hot Pot 鶏団子鍋

Good Morning everyone, another week is started and we are almost to the end of 2009. Winter seems to be creeping up fast on us here in Japan and it’s time for some winter Japanese Food. Today’s Japanese Style Recipe is called Chicken Balls Hot Pot or 鶏団子鍋 in Japanese. This is our typical meal for the winter time “Hot Pot” or “Nabe” in Japanese. This is a very delicious meal for the winter and very easy to make. I hope you enjoy this recipe. Let’s see what we need to make our Chicken Balls Hot Pot, shall we.
Ingredients
  • 900g ground chicken
  • 2-3 long green onion
  • 200g shimeji mushrooms
  • 10㎝×1 konbu kelp
  • 1.5-2 litter water

Instructions
  1. Cut the long green onion into 1㎝ wide lengths diagonal cut. Cut off the stem the shimeji mushrooms and divide into small groups.
  2. Set the water and konbu kelp in a pot and over with cover, when it comes boil, reduce the heat to low, and remove the konbu kelp, add the ground chicken, making chicken ball with spoon, then, add the long green onion and shimeji mushrooms and shimmer until heated through.
  3. Each diner sauce and soup dips it in dipping sauce and soup with condiments.
