Pirozhki ピロシキ

Today’s Japanese Cooking Recipe is called Pirozhki or ピロシキ in Japanese. This is a great snack for the kids or when you have family over the house. The kids will enjoy making them with you also. Have fun cooking in the kitchen, until tomorrow enjoy. Let’s see what we need to make our Pirozhki recipe.
Ingredients
  • 350 cc milk
  • 50 cc water
  • 4 cups flour
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil for pastry
  • 2.5 tbsp sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 20g dry yeast
  • ½ tbsp salt
  • vegetable oil for grease hands when making pastry
  • Filling
  • 180g ground beef
  • 70g ground pork
  • ½ onion, cut into mince
  • salt and pepper
  • vegetable oil for deep frying

Instructions
  1. Dissolve 20g of dry yeast in 50cc of water. Warm milk to 35-40℃.
  2. Mix milk, yeast, sugar, salt, 2 tbsp. of vegetable oil and eggs. Add in wheat flour, lightly grease your hands and stir well to make dough, add butter and knead until smooth.
  3. Cover with lid and let stand in warm place, after 1hour, press down on the dough twice to get rid of pockets of air.
  4. Lay out a cloth on a table, smear with oil, roll the dough into small balls, and wait for 15 min (do not touch).
  5. Flatten each ball so that it is about 1㎝ thick.
  6. Fry onion, ground beef, and ground pork to make filling.
  7. Add filling, fold into dumpling shape and lay edges faces down, do not touch for 20 min.
  8. Deep fry until brown.
