Sweet Potato Parfait さつまいものパフェ

Today on Cooking Japanese Style we have a Dessert recipe for you. Called Sweet Potato Parfait or さつまいものパフェ in Japanese. This recipe was submitted from a daily reader who stops by to read our Japanese Recipes and she lives in Chiba, Japan. This looks very delicious and very sweet, so I will try this out this coming weekend and see how things turn out. I think I will have the kids help me on this one, I think they will have a little fun making something new. Enjoy So let’s see what we need to make our Sweet Potato Parfait Recipe.
Ingredients
  • 1 sweet potato
  • vanilla essence
  • 1 tbsp rum liqueur
  • A:
  • 3 tbsp granules sugar
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp hot water
  • B:
  • 100 cc fresh cream
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp rum liqueur
  • For Earl Grey Tea Ice cream:
  • 4-5 tbsp earl grey tea
  • 1 cup vanilla ice cream
  • 5 tbsp plain yogurt
  • ¼ lemon juice
  • 1 tsp granules sugar

Instructions
  1. Four hours before eat, combine the ingredients of “Earl Grey Tea Ice cream”, and put into the freezer. When it becomes stuck a little, stir it whole, and put into the freezer, repeat itself twice.
  2. Peel the sweet potato and cut into 1㎝ square pieces, and boil. then, almost liquid is gone, while mashing stir, and moisture it spatter. Add the vanilla essence, and rum liqueur and mix.
  3. Place the ingredients of “A” into a pan, over a heat, boiling down in like a candy condition, it little burn. Turn off the heat, add the hot water ,make to caramel sauce. Then, add the sweet potato, and mix.
  4. Place the fresh cream into a bowl, add the brown sugar and rum liqueur and beat until soft and creamy.
  5. Arrange the sweet potato, ice cream, and whip cream in a serve bowl or glass.
