I find Japanese versions of Italian food really interesting. I doubt you would ever find ketchup in real Italian pasta, but the sweetness somehow works in Napolitana.
How would you characterize the Japanese sense of taste when it comes to pasta? Do they generally go for sweeter flavors?
@Nigel Fogden
Hiya, I think everyone sense of taste are a little different. For my family they like it on the sweet tasty side. When Foreign Food Culture began to come to Japan, the pasta foods of Italy is imitated and made to fit our taste. This particular is one of the Japanese Style.
