Mabo-Tofu 麻婆豆腐

Well Monday’s recipe on Cooking Japanese Style is a dish called Mabo-Tofu or 麻婆豆腐 in Japanese. Mabo-Tofu is a dish from China, and has made it’s way to Japan. It’s a very popular dish in the kitchen as well as in restaurants. Enjoy and have a great Monday, we will see you all tomorrow.
Ingredients
  • 1 pack tofu
  • 100g pork ground meat
  • ½ green onion
  • 1 knob garlic
  • 1 knob ginger
  • 1tsp granules soup stock
  • 2 tbsp miso
  • 1 tbsp sake
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp Japanese chili pepper
  • 150 cc water
  • 1 tsp vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp starch
  • 2 tbsp water

Instructions
  1. Cut the green onion, ginger, and garlic into finely chop. Cut the tofu into 1㎝ cube pieces.
  2. Heat the oil into a frying pan, add the garlic , ginger and pork ground meat and fry. When it cooked, add the water, granules soup stock, sake, soy sauce, miso, and Japanese chili powder and boiling.
  3. Add the tofu and green onion and simmer briefly, add the starch dissolved in the water to the pan, to thicken the sauce.
