I love when I go out to stand up bars, and they always have delicious food all lined up on the counter for you to choose. Always the first thing I must order is Sunomono Cucumber in English Japanese Vinegary Cucumber Salad. (I could be wrong but I think this is the closes meaning I can get.) I just the taste of Japanese vinegar, kinds strange but it has a very different taste then the vinegar in the U.S.. If your asking if it goes great with beer, the answer is YES!! Japanese Vinegary Cucumber Salad

Ingredients
  • 2 Japanese or 3 Persian cucumbers
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 3 Tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • ¼ tsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds
  • 1 tsp wakame seaweed

Instructions
  1. Slice cucumbers as thin as you can. Add in salt and mix well, then let it sit for 5 minutes. Next squeeze water out from cucumbers.
  2. Get a bowl, add your rice vinegar, sugar, and soy sauce together mix until sugar dissolves.
  3. Lastly add the vinegar mix, wakame, and sesame seeds to your cucumbers and mix well.
  4. Place in a dish and server.
