Chicken Meat Ball Rice Bowl 鶏つくね丼

Serves: 2

  • 300g ground chicken
  • 1 green onion, cut into finely chop
  • ¼ cabbage, cut into finely strips
  • 1 knob grated ginger
  • 2 portion cooked rice
  • 2 tsp sake
  • 2 tsp starch
  • pickled ginger (strips type)
  • toasted sesame
  • vegetable oil
  • 4 tbsp soy sauce
  • 4 tbsp mirin
  • 2 tbsp sugar

  1. Place the ground chicken, green onion, ginger, starch and sake in a bowl, and knead well, and rolling to small ball pieces.
  2. Heat the oil in a frying pan, and bake the chicken meat ball. When cooked the chicken meat balls, add the soy sauce, mirin, and sugar and fry- simmer until almost liquid is gone.
  3. Put the cooked rice in a dish bowl, put the cabbage, and put the chicken meat balls on top. Sprinkle the sesame and garnish with pickled ginger.
