Roll Pork 豚肉ロ~ル
Recipe type: Main Dish, Pork
Cuisine: Japanese
Serves: 2

  • 12 pieces of sliced pork sirloin (buta niku)
  • 3 pickled plums (umeboshi)
  • 8 – 9cm Nagaimo (it’s like a yam)
  • starch (teki-ryo)
  • 12 pieces of green perilla (aojiso)

  1. Let’s start with the pickled plum, the seed of the pickled plum is taken and make it detail with a kitchen knife.
  2. Next we need to peel the nagaimo and cut it in half. Than cut into cylinder shapes of 3 – 4 cm. Now get one piece of pork, extended to the cutting board. Add the starch thinly applied, the green perilla on the forward and add the pickled plum thinly spread on top of the green perilla. Next put on the nagaimo and roll it up forward.(note: pork is wrapped so that both sides is folded).
  3. Now add some oil to your frying pan with medium heat, add the pork rolls to the frying pan and let it roast while rolling it for about 4 – 5 minutes. When it’s nicely brown to your liking, cut in halves and serve on a plate. There you are finished.

There you have it. Hope you enjoy this, until next time let’s cook together. 次回は一緒に作りましょう~^^/~~ PS: If you enjoy my Daily recipe subscribe to my RSS Feed and I also have available my first e-Book, which is FREE to you for coming by and reading my Cooking Japanese Style. Thank you..
