Recipe type: Main Dish, Beef, Pork

Konnichiwa minasan, Today’s Recipe is Teriyaki Hamburger. This is one of my family’s favorites. When I was a child my mom use to make this all the time and I got to help her make the patties. Now my kids do the same and help me make the patties. Well, let’s get started with making our Teriyaki Hamburger.
  • 400 g ground beef
  • 200 g ground pork
  • 1½ tbsp bread crumbs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1⅓ cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • ½ tsp salt
  • a little of pepper
  • ½ butter
  • 4-5 tbsp teriyaki sauce

  1. Heat 1tbsp vegetable oil in a frying pan, and fry the onion well over medium heat until it becomes light brown. Remove from the heat and spread over a plate and let stand until cool.
  2. Put the bread crumbs and milk in a small bowl, soak the bread crumbs in the milk.
  3. Put the ground beef and ground pork in another large bowl, add the fried onion, soaked bread crumbs, salt, pepper, egg and mix well until the mixture becomes sticky. And cover with wrap firm and let rest 1hour in a fridge.
  4. Cut the meat mixture into 4 equal portion. Moisten your hand with a little oil and form each portion an oval shape. Adjust so that each patty is about 2-3cm thick.
  5. Heat 2 tsp and ½ tbsp butter in a frying pan. Place the patties in the pan, cover and fry over low heat about 5min until browned. When browned, turn the patties over. Cover the again and continue to fry over a low heat for about 10min. Piece the center of each patty with bamboo skewer or fork to see the color of the exuding juice. If it’s clean, It’s cooked well.
  6. Pour the teriyaki sauce over the patties in the frying pan. Continue cooked for 1-2 min with pouring teriyaki sauce over the patties.
  7. Arrange the favorite vegetables for garnish, and place the cooked patty and pour the any remaining teriyaki sauce over the patty, serve immediately.

There you have it. Hope you enjoy this, until next time let’s cook together. 次回は一緒に作りましょう~^^/~~
