Good Afternoon Everyone. It’s sunny weekend here in Japan. The kids are outside playing and the hubby is working on the other computer. Well, today’s Japanese Cooking Recipe is Zha jiang-Japanese Style. This is an original Chinese Recipe, since we have a lot of different foods from all over the world here in Japan. We sometimes change a bit to make it Japanese Style and here one of many to come. Very tasty and delicious, I hope you enjoy this Recipe. Let’s get going with what we need to make our Zha jiang-Japanese Style.
  • 2 portion Udon noodles
  • 100g thinly sliced Pork, cut into mince
  • 1 knob ginger, cut into mince
  • ½ long green onion
  • 1 tbsp sake
  • A:
  • 3 tbsp Tianmianjian(Chinese sweet noodle sauce)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • ¼ cup water
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil
  • cucumber for garnish

  1. Boil the Udon noodles and wash briefly and drain.
  2. Heat the oil in a frying pan, add the pork and fry briefly, add the ginger and long green onion. When it starts to smell good, add the sake and ingredients for “A”, and simmer until little bit thickness for 2-3 min over a medium heat. (If you like to “spicy hot, add the red chili before add the pork).
  3. Place the Udon noodles in a bowl, pour the “2”, then garnish with cucumber.
