Pain Perdu with Strawberry Compote パンペルデュとイチゴのコンポート

Well, todays Cooking Japanese Style is called Pain Perdu with Strawberry Compote or パンペルデュとイチゴのコンポート in Japanese. This is one of my favorite as I just love my strawberries when they are in season here in Japan. They are a little expensive, but they are very fat and juicy. This is very easy to make and I hope you enjoy this recipe. Let’s see what we need to make our Pain Perdu with Strawberry Compote.
  • 12 strawberries
  • ½ Fresh orange juice
  • 50g granules sugar
  • 2 sliced bread
  • butter

  • 250ml milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 50g granules sugar
  • cinnamon powder
  • maple syrup

  1. Place the strawberries, fresh orange juice and granules sugar, let stand until melted sugar.
  2. Place the pan over medium heat, gently stirring- simmer, when it became tender and strawberry color, turn off the heat, let stand cool.
  3. Put the ingredients of “A” in a bowl, add the bread, let stand for 5-10min. then, and make to pain perdu (French toast).
  4. Arrange the PainPerdu (French toast), and pour over the Compote and maple syrup.
