Takikomi Gohan Meals: Hijiki Gohan
Recipe type: Main Dish, Rice
Cuisine: Japanese
Serves: 2 – 3

  • 2 cup rice
  • 360 cc dashi stock
  • 20g hijiki, ( wash with cold water and soak in a water for 5-10 min and drain. Cut into 3-4㎝ lengths pieces.
  • 1 deep fried tofu, abura-age
  • ½ carrot
  • 1½ tbsp sake
  • 1½ tbsp mirin
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  1. Wash the rice and drain for 30 min before cooking and transfer the rice cooker and add the dashi stock. Set aside.
  2. Cut the carrot and abura-age into 2㎝ lengths strips.
  3. Put the sake, mirin, soy sauce into the rice cooker and mix. Add the carrot abura-age and hijiki, and cook the rice (Don’t mix).
  4. When the rice is cooked, mix well.
