Good Morning Everyone, it’s an ugly day today.  Typhoon 6 looks like it’s coming later this evening, strong winds and off and on showers.  Well that will not stop us for enjoying cooking.

Spaghetti with Meat Sauce スパゲティミートソース
Recipe type: Main Dish, Spaghetti, Beef
Serves: 2

Tuesday’s recipe here on Cooking Japanese Style is a very simple dish that I haven’t made in a while for the family called Spaghetti with Meat Sauce or スパゲティミートソース in Japanese. The taste reminds me when I was in grade school, it was very delicious too. I heard some stories that some school had some bad days of school lunch. I was pretty surprise to hear that, because I could remember one bad lunch I had. Have a great day and we will see you all tomorrow.
  • 200g beef and pork ground meat
  • ½ onion
  • ½ carrot
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 caned tomato sauce
  • 1 laurier
  • nutmeg
  • salt and pepper
  • 200g spaghetti
  • minced parsley
  • cheese powder

  1. Cut the onion and carrot into a finely chop. Heat the oil in a pan and add the ground meat and fry. When it become the change color, add the onion and carrot, then fry. Add the caned tomato sauce, nutmeg, and laurier, and simmer until 20-30 min. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Boil the spaghetti in amble water with salt.and drain.
  3. Place the spaghetti on a plate, and pour the meat sauce over the top. Sprinkle the minced parsley and cheese powder.
