Takikomi Gohan Meals: Sweet Potato Gohan

Serves: 2 – 3

  • 2 cup rice
  • 250g sweet potato
  • 2 2/5 cup water
  • 1 tbsp sake
  • 1 tsp salt
  • sesame salt (mixed black sesame and salt)

  1. Wash the rice for 30 min before cooking, and drain. After 30 min. transfer to rice cooker and add the water into a rice cooker and cook as usual.
  2. Cut the sweet potato into small bite-size pieces and soak it into cold water for 5 min. and drain.
  3. Put the sweet potato, sake and salt into a rice cooker and mix. Then cook. When it cooked, lightly mix taking care not to be break up the sweet potato. Serve in a rice bowl and sprinkle the sesame salt your taste.
