Today on Cooking Japanese Style we have a dessert called Chestnut Cake or マロンケーキ in Japanese. This is a very delicious cake to make when you have other mothers over the house for a cup of coffee and talk about how their child is doing and other family matters. lol This is very easy to make when chestnut is available, sometime we have a hard time finding chestnut in our supermarkets here. I hope you enjoy this recipe and hope you try this out or share with your friends. Let’s see what we need to make our Chestnut Cake recipe.
Ingredients
  • 500g chestnut
  • ½-2/3 cup
  • 100cc fresh cream
  • 1½ tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp rum

Instructions
  1. Place the chestnut in a pot and pour in the water so that chestnut is completely. Boil it for about 20- 30 min and drain. Cut the boiled chestnut in half and take out the chestnut with spoon. Then, place the chestnut and pour in enough water so that chestnut is completely. Add the sugar (less) and simmer over a medium heat.
  2. If you thought want to more sweet, add the sugar. When it low moisture, reduce the heat and stir-simmer until moisture is gone.
  3. Place the simmered chestnut in a square container tightly and cover with plastic film. Let stand cool in a refrigerator.
  4. Place the fresh cream in a bowl and add the sugar and rum. Beat it until soft and creamy.
  5. Cut the chestnut and place on a plate. Garnish with cream your taste.
