Pho with Beef 牛肉のフォー

Serves: 2

  • 600 cc beef soup stock or chicken soup stock
  • 2 Chinese star anise
  • 100g thinly sliced beef
  • 80g dried rice noodles
  • 60g sprouts
  • 5 spring onion
  • ⅙ red onion
  • 3 tbsp fish sauce (or soy sauce)
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • pepper
  • sudachi, Japanese chili powder, chili sauce, coriander

  1. Place the soup stock in a pot, and boil the beef briefly and remove it from pot, set aside. Add the fish sauce, sugar, salt and pepper into the soup.
  2. Cut the spring onion into a 5㎝ lengthwise, and cut the red onion into thinly slice.
  3. Boil the rice noodles in ample hot water and drain. Put it in a dish bowl.
  4. Add the beef and warmed soup in a dish bowl; add the spring onion and red onion.
  5. Finally, squeeze the sudachi; put the coriander, chili sauce, and Japanese chili etc… Your taste.
